Miners Hall Museum Foundation

Who We Are

Miners Hall Museum Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the rich coal mining and immigrant heritage of Southeast Kansas. But we're much more than a museum. We also care for a community park, develop educational programs, preserve historic sites, create exhibits, host special events, and work with partners throughout the region to strengthen our communities through history, tourism, conservation, and education. Whether your interests are history, education, communications, environmental stewardship, event planning, research, marketing, or community service, you'll find opportunities to make a real difference while working alongside passionate volunteers and community leaders.

What We Do

No two volunteer experiences are exactly alike. Students can help with museum exhibits, historical research, educational programs, community festivals, fundraising events, photography, social media, landscaping, gardening, trail and park improvements, wildlife habitat projects, improve our social media including YouTube, create video presentations, and other special restoration efforts. Some projects involve creativity and public interaction, while others require teamwork and hands-on work behind the scenes. Whether you can volunteer for a single event, complete a class project, fulfill service-learning requirements, intern in your field of study, or become a long-term volunteer, we'll work with you to find an opportunity that matches your interests, skills, and schedule. Bring your passion—we'll help you find the project. Whether you're looking to build your résumé, develop new skills, meet great people, or simply give back, there's a place for you at Miners Hall Museum.
