Family Resource Center

Who We Are

OUR MISSION: Provide children (birth to 12 years) a safe, caring atmosphere that nurtures their academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

OUR GOAL: Children who are ready to learn and succeed when they reach kindergarten and beyond.

OUR CREDENTIALS: The Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This means: Our programs meet rigorous, research-based standards for quality care and education—beyond standard care licensing. We support whole-child development and promote active learning through play and positive educational experiences. Our caring educators are highly qualified.

All staff are state-licensed, participate in ongoing professional development, and apply best practices in early childhood education. Supportive interactions provide warm, safe learning environments where children are praised for cooperation and other appropriate behaviors. We are committed to continuous improvement. We regularly assess and enhance our programs and services to better support family needs.

What We Do

Our services include childcare, preschool, and family support.

We provide exceptional, affordable, and flexible child care for infants through age 12 from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (closed holidays).

From August – May (following Pittsburg School District’s schedule), we provide preschool services for children ages 3 to Kindergarten. Sessions are Monday - Friday (closed holidays), 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., and noon – 3 p.m. Each March, we begin enrolling for the upcoming school year. Children also can start anytime August – May, if spaces are available.

We believe families are a child's first and most important teachers, which is why family partnership is at the heart of everything we do. We offer FREE developmental screenings to help parents better understand their child's growth and development. When additional support is needed, identifying concerns early allows children and families to access services sooner—leading to stronger outcomes.

Our team is committed to providing comprehensive support for children with developmental or special needs by connecting families with trusted community resources and coordinating services to make the process easier. We can help families access:

  • Medical and behavioral health services

  • Financial, legal, and family support resources

  • Housing assistance, food, essential goods, and other basic needs

  • Parenting education, guidance, and support

  • Early intervention and specialized services for children with developmental needs
